• Hiking: the starting point for hikes to the Hardangervidda and Gorsbolten, a spectacular rock formation overlooking the valley.
• Hardangervidda National Park: Europe's largest mountain plateau. Perfect for walking, hiking or mountaineering.
• Trolltunga: also known as "the Troll's Tongue," is a horizontally protruding rock at an altitude of 1.180 meters. The starting point is approximately 55 km away. distance from Røldal.
• Seljestadjuvet: stunning mountain pass with views of waterfalls and glaciers (towards Odda).
• Folgefonna Glacier (approx. 1 hour's drive): glacier hiking and summer skiing.
• Låtefossen: the "twin waterfall" with a height of 165 meters – 27km. away.
• Local products & markets: In the summer, there are local markets with goat cheese, berries and handicrafts.
• Fishing: in the Røldalsvatnet (lake) or in the surrounding mountain streams and rivers (fishing permits are available in the village).
Røldal Stave Church is located in the center of Røldal and is easily accessible from all the campsites listed below. Built around 1200 AD, the church is one of the oldest stave churches in Norway.
Røldal Stave Church is known for its miraculous cross, which, according to legend, has healing powers. The church is still in use and open to visitors in the summer. It is definitely worth a visit.
The Røldal winter sports area is located around the Røldal Ski Center, about a 10-minute drive from the center of Røldal. The ski area is situated at an altitude of 750–1.250 meters and has the highest average snowfall in Norway.

At the Røldal Ski Center, you'll find 7 lifts and 12 slopes, ranging from easy to challenging. The ski area is very popular with freeriders and off-piste skiers. Ski and snowboard rentals are available, as well as various lessons and après-ski options.
In summer, you can enjoy mountain biking or take beautiful walks on the slopes of the Røldal Ski Center.

Røldal is located on the E134, which runs from Oslo to Haugesund. Whether you're coming from the east (Oslo), the west (Haugesund), or the south (Kristiansand), Røldal is ideally situated as a first overnight stop. Seim Camping Røldal is beautifully situated 2.5km. from the center of Røldal. The campsite is just 100 meters from the Røldalsvatnet lake, where you can fish and swim. The campsite has gained a reputation for having a real bakery on site.
