Stave Church Roldal
The beautiful stave church of Roldal (“Røldal stavkyrkje”) is within walking distance of Roldal Hyttegrend og Camping. The church dates from the 13th century and is still in use today. It is one of the oldest ring churches in Norway and attracts many tourists, mainly because of its history and beautiful decorations.
Roldal
Roldal is not only known for the stave church, but is also an important winter sports resort. For that reason, most campsites in the village are open all year round. It is said that here in Roldal the most snow falls in all of Norway. So pretty snow-sure. Roldal is also a popular place to explore the beautiful surroundings. Hikers in particular can indulge themselves here, because the area has beautiful "hiking attractions" such as the Folgefonna National Park (glacier), the Trolltunga and of course the Hardangervidda.
Central location between Seljord and Haugesund
For many campers, Roldal has become a regular stop along the E134 between Seljord and Haugesund. And it shows, because the small village has no fewer than 4 campsites. But it is not only the location that is important, but also the fact that you generally still have the space here. If you continue towards the Hardangerfjord, the campsites in, for example, Odda and Kinsarvik are considerably busier. And so, many campers stay 1 or more extra nights on the campsite.
