Campsites in Bud

The campsites in Bud are located on the west coast of Norway. Near the fishing village of Bud. Roughly between the pleasant town of Molde and the spectacular Atlanterhavsveien (Atlantic Road). The campsites in Bud are a good base to visit the Ergan Kyst fortress in Bud or to enjoy traditional Norwegian dishes in one of the fine fish restaurants in Bud. Or, for example, to visit the Trollkirka (with a 14 meter high waterfall in the cave) and the Atlanterhavsveien. Both are located in the vicinity of the campsites in Bud. Read more

What to do in Bud?

In the 16th and 17th centuries Bud was an important trading center. Today Bud is a lovely fishing village:

and a popular tourist spot. Bud is particularly popular because of its excellent fish restaurants and the impressive Ergan Kystfort. This fort played an important role in the Second World War and it now houses a museum:

A number of beautiful hiking routes have been set out around Bud. One takes you to the top of the 160 meter high mountain Gulberget. Here you have a spectacular view of Bud and the beautiful surroundings.

Trollkirka

Trollkirka - or “Troll Church” - is a collective name for a series of limestone caves and underground passageways half an hour's drive from Bud. The caves consist of underground streams (where you can also swim), various cavities (helmet with lamp recommended) and a 14 meter high waterfall in the cave:

At the reception of the campsites in Bud they will be happy to tell you more about it.

Atlanterhavsveien – Atlantic Road

The Atlanterhavsveien is a half-hour drive from Bud and is one of Norway's 18 National Tourist Roads. Not surprising of course, because whether you drive this route in the middle of summer in nice weather, or in October in strong winds... It remains an equally spectacular and beautiful route:

The Atlantic Road is just over 8km. long and takes you over various islands and a total of 8 bridges through a unique landscape. Really beautiful! The Atlanterhavsveien has even been declared one of the most beautiful roads in the world.
