Tjugen Camping in Loen in the Vestland (Sogn og Fjordane) region
What a wonderful place this is! Right on a fast-flowing river and surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks. With a view of various waterfalls and glaciers. Wow! Every camper has a nice view from the different terraces at Tjugen Camping. Also from the cabins and bungalows at the campsite. Do you want a little more view? Then opt for a walk to the top of Mount Skala or a ride with the Loen Skylift.
At Tjugen Camping
Tjugen Camping is a well-kept campsite just 2.5km. from the center of Loen, where you will find a supermarket. The sanitary facilities at the campsite are well cared for and are situated in a traditional Norwegian building. Made of wood and with a lot of vegetation on the roof. A covered place to chill have been realized at the reception, ideal if the weather is not so good. There is also a nice playground with a trampoline and free WiFi is available on the campsite.
Mountain Skala, 300 meters from Tjugen Camping
Tjugen Camping is located at the foot of the Skala mountain. This mountain can be reached on foot from the campsite - at an altitude of 1.848 meters. But maybe the 300 meters is just a bit too much, because the walk to the top of the Skala will take you 4 - 6 hours. Then you also have to go back. And so there are also a number of shorter walks available.
Via Ferrata and Skylift Loen at 2.5km. from the campsite
Only a few years old and already a huge attraction: the Via Ferrata and the Skylift Loen. The Via Ferrata of Loen is the longest one in Europe. Via a small bridge you cross to the next mountain, at an altitude of 750 meters. The nearby Loen Skylift goes a little higher: 1.011 meters. You can achieve that in a few minutes. Really super fast!
Glacier Tour
Do you want to make a beautiful glacier tour? Then a walk to the Bodal glacier is recommended. Both the Bodal glacier and the Kjendall glacier are located in Lodalen. The valley near Loen where Tjugen Camping is located. According to experts, the Bodal glacier is certainly as beautiful, if not more beautiful, and larger than the Briksdal glacier in the next valley.
