Lofthus Camping in Lofthus in the Vestland (Hordaland) region
Lofthus Camping is a very popular campsite with a spectacular view. From the campsite you can see various waterfalls and the Hardangerfjord and the Folgefonna glacier is also visible across the fjord. You can go on wonderful hikes close to the campsite, for example to the Trolltunga (“tongue of the Troll” - a horizontally scenic cliff), to the Hardangervidda (largest mountain plateau in Northern Europe) and to various waterfalls.
At Lofthus Camping
The camping pitches at Lofthus Camping are situated in an orchard, on a large lawn and on a paved area. There are really beautiful places available for tents, so first take the time to make a tour over the campsite. In addition, you can rent cabins and bungalows, including luxury 6 pers. bungalows with a spectacular view over the fjord. The WIFI is free and there are electric bicycles for rent. And when you get up in the morning: fresh bread!
Lofthus, Hardangerfjord, visit Bergen
The village of Lofthus is just on 1 km. distance from the campsite. In Lofthus you will find a small number of shops (including a supermarket), a snackbar, a bistro / café and a bus stop. Lofthus is located directly on the Hardangerfjord, after the Sognefjord the largest fjord in Norway with a length of no less than 170 km. If you want to go from Lofthus to Bergen, the "13" - which runs along the fjord - is recommended. Before and after the Hardanger Bridge you take the roundabout IN the tunnel (very special) and via Granvin you could take the beautiful "7" in the direction of Bergen. Note: sometimes very narrow. You can also drive on from Granvin to Voss and take the E16, but that route is less attractive.
Location between Odda and Kinsarvik on the Hardangerfjord
Lofthus Camping is located on a side road of the "13" which runs from Odda to Kinsarvik. Since the new spectacular bridge over the Hardangerfjord is in use, you can easily reach Bergen, Voss and Flam via the "13". The campsite is about half an hour's drive from Odda and 10 minutes from Kinsarvik where the Mikkelparken (large family park with various water attractions, slides, playgrounds, etc.) is located.
