Kjaertveit Camping in Eidfjord in the Vestland (Hordaland) region
Really beautifully situated campsite within walking distance of the center of Eidfjord where you will find various shops, a café, restaurant and supermarket. The view from the campsite is phenomenal and you can camp right on the water. Kjaertveit Camping is surrounded by impressive mountains and is located directly on the Hardangerfjord. Rooms, apartments and cabins are rented out at the campsite.
At Kjaertveit Camping Eidfjord
Kjaertveit Camping Eidfjord is located directly on the Hardangerfjord, but a river, the Eio, also runs along the campsite. A famous salmon river. Anglers can indulge themselves here. Motor and rowing boats can be rented at the campsite. The camping pitches are situated on grass. There is a small playground and a recreation room with TV. The camping area (including sanitary facilities) is open from 1 April – 1 October. The accommodations can be rented all year round. Good value for money.
Mikkelparken Kinsarvik
In Kinsarvik (half an hour's drive from Kjaertveit Camping) you will find Mikkelparken Familypark, a popular park for families with young children. In this beautiful park you will find no less than 3 swimming pools (heated), various slides and water games with water cannons, tipping buckets with water and water spouts. Recommended. Especially in good weather.
The Hardangerfjord, the Voringsfossen and the Hardangervidda
Kjaertveit Camping is located directly on the Hardangerfjord, with 179km. length the second largest fjord in Norway. The fjord is located in an impressive environment with snow-capped peaks. The Folgefonna glacier and the Trolltunga are also located in the Hardanger area. If you are a hiking enthusiast, stay a few days longer at Kjaertveit Camping Eidfjord. Because the Hardangervidda - the largest plateau in Europe - is close to the campsite. On the way you should definitely stop at Voringsfossen, one of Norway's most famous waterfalls. The waterfall is almost 200 meters high and if you dare: you can now "walk over the waterfall". Very special.
Located in the triangle Odda, Geilo and Voss, visit Bergen
The beautiful city of Bergen is just over 2 hours' drive from the campsite. You can also take the train in Voss (a 45-minute drive). If you want to drive a nice route, take the spectacular Hardanger bridge, drive through the beautifully lit roundabouts in the tunnel along the Hardangerfjord (via the "7") towards Norheimsund, then take the E16 to Voss, go shopping there and then back to Kjaertveit Camping Eidfjord.
