Granholmen Camping is a well maintained campsite at approx. 5km. south of the center of Sandefjord. The campsite is beautifully situated on a small island which is accessible via a bridge / dike. You will find a supermarket within walking distance. Granholmen Camping is located near the ports of Sandefjord and Larvik and about 127km. away from Oslo. The campsite has a beautiful sandy beach, good water sports facilities (SUPs for rent at the campsite) and a kiosk with a nice terrace where you can eat / drink something.
At Granholmen Camping
The camping pitches for campers and caravans at Granholmen Camping are situated on gravel with “grass under the canopy”. A number of grass pitches are available for tents. The campsite has an idyllic location on an island which can be reached by bridge / dike. Due to its location, the campsite is surrounded by water and therefore very popular with water sports enthusiasts. For example, there are SUPs for rent at the campsite. Granholmen Camping has a sandy beach and a sunbathing area, there is a marina, a lounge with TV and free WIFI.
Hiking, fishing and cycling in the Vestfold region
The Vestfold region is very popular with cycling enthusiasts and hikers and there are several hiking trails in the immediate vicinity of Granholmen Camping. The area is also very suitable for anglers. On the campsite you can rent a motorboat. The Vestfold region is hilly, you will find here nice small towns and so the area is very popular with cycling enthusiasts. Tip: the nice coastal town of Tonsberg is about 32km. away and is the oldest town in Norway.
Ferry to and from Larvik and Sandefjord
Granholmen Camping is about 15km. away from the port of Larvik, where the Color Line ferry arrives from Hirtshals, Denmark and about 5km. from the port of Sandefjord, where the Color Line and Fjord Line ferries arrive from Stromstad, Sweden. If you arrive in Larvik or Sandefjord late in the day and want to stay overnight at Granholmen Camping, it is advisable to reserve a spot in advance.
Central location between Oslo and Kristiansand
Granholmen Camping is approx. 9km. away from the E18 which runs from Oslo (127km.) towards Kristiansand (210km.). The campsite is therefore also an ideal place to stay if, for example, you have arrived in Kristiansand by ferry and you are on your way to Oslo. Because in about a 3 hour drive you reach the campsite.
