First Camp Lunde - Telemark is located right by the Telemark Canal. The canal is known for its many locks (18 in total!), because water above a height difference of no less than 72 meters must be regulated. The campsite is 400 meters from Lunde Lock and the lock inn. Lunde - Telemark has a calm atmosphere in a scenic environment, well-equipped also for people with disabilities. The destination is also Green Key certified and supports the sunflower brand.

Walking tours, cycling tours, canoeing and kayaking

First Camp Lunde - Telemark is perfect for the active type of camper. There are many opportunities for hiking and cycling in the area, bicycles can be hired at the reception. The specialty of the campsite is of course (due to its location by the Telemark Canal) canoeing and kayaking. Many types of canoes, kayaks but also SUP boards can be rented at reception, including other necessary equipment. The staff are familiar with travel and are happy to share their travel tips.

At First Camp Lunde - Telemark

The campsite has many great places to set up the caravan, motorhome or tent. You can spend the night right by the Telemark Canal and on pitches with gravel or grass. At a small lake, there are also pitches specially calculated for tents. This is great! The sanitary facilities are well maintained and very well adapted for people with disabilities. Hot water and internet (WIFI) is free for all overnight guests at First Camp Lunde – Telemark.

Lunde and the Telemark Canal

The campsite is within walking distance of the village of Lunde. In Lunde you will find a restaurant, a grocery store, a petrol station and several small shops. The area has many mountains, with terrain that is good for both hikers and MTB cyclists. There are also opportunities for fishing. The biggest attraction in the area is of course the Telemark Canal. The most spectacular part is at Vrangfoss (8km. from the campsite), especially when the historic canal boats Victoria and Henrik Ibsen pass by. At Lunde lock you can experience two canal boats meeting, which is the only place on the Telemark canal where this can be experienced.

Bo Sommarland Family Park and Hoyt og Lavt Climbing Park in Bo

The village of Bo is 18km. away from the campsite. Here you will find e.g. Bo Sommarland Family Park, the largest water park in Scandinavia. Feel free to spend more than one day in the park, because the number of attractions is large. Hoyt og Lavt Climbing Park in Bo is also worth visiting, Norsjo Kabelpark which is only 35 minutes away by car.
