Telemark Camping og Motel is a well-maintained campsite just north of the village of Fyresdal. The campsite is located in an incredibly beautiful scenery and has both cabins and campingpitches which have a direct view of the Skredvatn (lake). Due to the quiet location, the beautiful surroundings, the friendly (Dutch) owners and the many activities to do, Telemark Camping og Motel has many annual returning campers.
At Telemark Camping og Motel
At the entrance of Telemark Camping og Motel you will find Roan Kroa, a pub/eatery where you can have a bite to eat in the evening, have lunch and breakfast in the morning. In the cozy Roan Kroa you can also play darts and pool billiards. The campsite has well-maintained sanitary facilities, a barbecue area with picnic tables, a sandy beach, canoes and boats are available for free and bicycles are available to rent.
The Gaustatoppen and the Telemark Kanal
At a short 2 hour drive from the campsite you will find the Gaustatoppen - according to many one of the most beautiful mountains in Norway - near the small town of Rjukan. From the Gaustatoppen - with a height of 1.883 meters - you have an unforgettable view and the environment is very popular with hikers. A visit to the Telemark Kanal is definitely worth it. Because a difference in height of 72 meters has to be crossed on the entire route of the Telemark Kanal, there are no fewer than 18 locks in the Telemark Kanal.

Telemark Camping og Motel is an ideal campsite if you are on the road in Norway by bicycle or motorbike. The campsite has a covered shed, motel rooms, different types of cabins, an apartment for 6 people, a tree tent, super nice glamping tents and there is a special tentarea where you can pitch your own tent. Due to the presence of the Roan Kroa, you do not have to cook yourself, but of course you can also use the kitchen facilities on the campsite.
Good location after arriving in Kristiansand
Many campers enter Norway through Kristiansand. From Hirtshals in the north of Denmark you can easily cross to Kristiansand via the Color Line and via the Fjord Line (also fast crossing – 2 hours), but from the beginning of April 2022 it is also possible to travel directly from Eemshaven (north of the Netherlands). ) to sail to Kristiansand. From Kristiansand to the Fyresdal it is then about a 2.5 hour drive.
