Stavanger Camping Mosvangen in Stavanger in the Rogaland region

Stavanger Camping Mosvangen has been renewed considerably in recent years. The campsite has been completely overhauled. New camping pitches, new sanitary facilities, new reception. The whole looks fine. And it shows. The camping site is particularly popular in high season (late June / early August). The advice is to arrive early at the campsite or - if possible - to visit Stavanger Camping Mosvangen out of season.

At Stavanger Camping Mosvangen

Stavanger Camping Mosvangen is beautifully situated in a park directly on the Mosvatnet (lake). Next to the campsite is the municipal swimming pool of Stavanger. Stavanger Camping Mosvangen has been renovated considerably in recent years and it looks very nice. The camping pitches are partly situated on gravel, partly on grass. There is a playground, a camping shop (you will also find a supermarket within walking distance of the campsite), a TV room, free WIFI and there are bicycles for rent. In addition to the camping pitches, there are a number of cabins for rent. The sanitary facilities (incl. sauna) are very well maintained.

Please note: it is not possible to reserve a pitch at Stavanger Camping Mosvangen. It is advisable to arrive at the campsite early in the afternoon.

Preikestolen

If you visit Norway, you must of course have seen the Preikestolen. From this spectacular 604 meter high cliff you have an incredibly beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and the Lysefjord. According to Lonely Planet, the Preikestolen offers the most breathtaking view in the world. The walk to the Preikestolen is 8km. long and it takes you (back and forth) about 4 hours. It can be very busy, especially in high season - and certainly when the weather is nice. Therefore, leave early in the morning. Tip: upon arrival at the Preikestolen you can take a beautiful photo of the cliff and the surroundings from a slightly higher part. Via the fairly new 14.3km. long Ryfylketunnel you reach the Preikestolen in just 45 minutes. So easy to do!

Visit Stavanger

Not only the Preikestolen and the beautiful white sandy beach of Solabeach (located southwest of Stavanger) are worth a visit, Stavanger itself is also very popular. The center is just over 2km. from Stavanger Camping Mosvangen and is both easy to do on foot (ask at reception for the route) and by bus (bus stop at the campsite). Stavanger is a student city and that is why the city exudes a special atmosphere. There are many food and beverage outlets and cozy terraces. Tip: Gamle Stavanger - the old town - is very beautiful. Here you will find the largest collection of wooden houses in Europe.
