Sveastranda Camping in Gjovik in the Innlandet (Oppland) region

This well cared 4-star campsite is situated on a wonderful location right on Lake Mjosa, the largest lake in Norway with a length of no less than 117km! Paved pitches are available for campers on Sveastranda Camping, but there are also plenty of grassy pitches. Apartments, bungalows and cabins are rented on the campsite.

At Sveastranda Camping

The campsite has a large number of facilities. You can check your e-mail or weather forecasts via the free WIFI connection, there is a small camping shop and fresh bread rolls are available in the morning. Restaurant Malai (also takeaway) is open during the school holidays and a few weekends before and after the holidays. You will find a golf course a short distance from the campsite. Bad weather ? There is a recreation room (with TV) at the campsite. You can now also use Camper Clean (emptying and cleaning of the toilet cassette) at Sveastranda Camping. For free! What a service!

Sports and game facilities

Sveastranda Camping is a great location for families with children. The campsite has a sports field, a beautiful playground, you can rent go-karts and…. the campsite is located directly on Lake Mjosa. With a beautiful sandy beach and plenty of water sport options. In the summer there is a water trampoline. Top for kids! Speaking of top: pedal boats and SUP-boards can be rented at the campsite. On the sandy beach and the sunbathing lawn you can sunbathe and then take a refreshing dip in the water of Lake Mjosa.

Lake Mjosa

Due to the location of Sveastranda Camping directly on Lake Mjosa it is also a good place for sailing or windsurfing. Rowing boats can be rented at the campsite. Dad can catch a fish for the barbecue. Take a moment to relax on the water in the evening? Then rent a canoe at the campsite. If you're lucky, the oldest paddle steamer in Norway (Skibladner) will sail past the campsite.

Central location between Gjovik, Hamar and Lillehammer

In 1994 the Winter Olympics were held in Norway. Sveastranda Camping is located approximately in the middle of the 3 Olympic cities of Gjovik, Hamar and Lillehammer. These cities are well worth a visit. There are also many "bad weather facilities" such as museums and covered shopping centers. Sveastranda Camping is located near the E6 on the left bank of the huge Mjosameer. Only a 2-hour drive from Oslo.
