PlusCamp Hageseter Turisthytte og Camping is located on a small river at the foot of the Dovrefjell. Near the E6, but there is no traffic noice. Rondane & Dovrefjell National Parks
Rondane National Park is the oldest national park in Norway. The park covers no less than 963km2. and houses 10 mountains from above 2.000 meters. The area is very popular with hikers, also because it is less rugged than for example the Jotunheimen National Park. Just like in Rondane National Park, Dovrefjell National Park also has wild reindeer, arctic foxes, but Dovrefjell is primarily "the area of the musk ox". The highest mountain in the area is Snohetta with a height of 2.286 meters.
Musk ox safari
The area around PlusCamp Hageseter Turisthytte og Camping is the habitat of the musk oxen. These mighty animals weigh between 250 and 450 kilos and can reach a speed of 60km. per hour. At the reception you can book a musk ox safari at Moskus Safari Dovrefjell. This company has been working with 5 guides in the Dovrefjell National Park for 15 years. The safaris usually last 5 - 6 hours, but are of course dependent on the weather.
Location close to the E6 between Dombas and Oppdal
PlusCamp Hageseter Turisthytte og Camping is fairly centrally located between Oslo and Trondheim along the E6. At approximately 30km. north of Dombas and 50km. south of Oppdal. Near the junction at Hjerkinn, where you can drive towards Alvdal, Tynset and Roros. In short, a nice central location. Take a moment to enjoy this wonderful place.
