Solvgarden Hotell og Feriesenter is one of the few 5-star campsites in Norway. The sanitary facilities on the campsite are very comfortable and there are even children's and private sanitary facilities available. The camping pitches are located on various fields, but exclusive camping pitches (large and separated by a hedge) can also be reserved. Solvgarden Hotell og Feriesenter not only has a camping area, but also various cabins, apartments and hotel rooms.

Because Solvgarden Hotell og Feriesenter consists not only of a campsite, but also of a hotel, there are many facilities. At the hotel you will find a bar and a restaurant, there is free WiFi, you can rent bicycles and canoes, there is a solarium, a playground, a charging point for electric cars and the sanitary facilities are very nice. You can even rent private sanitary facilities. There is a supermarket in the village of Rysstad within walking distance of the campsite.

History Rysstad family

The Rysstad Family has been running Solvgarden Hotell og Feriesenter since 1960, which is reflected in the camping site. What once started as a small campsite has grown into a beautiful holiday complex with a stunning traditional hotel with very nice rooms, a bar and a restaurant. You will also find a gift shop and a silver workshop. Because Sølv (= silver) is central to the history of the Rysstad family.

Fishing, swimming and canoeing in the river Otra

The location of Solvgarden Hotell og Feriesenter is superb. The campsite is located in a beautiful area directly on the river Otra where you can enjoy fishing and swimming. There is a small sandy beach at the campsite. You can also easily go on the water with the canoe, because canoes can also be rented at Solvgarden Hotell og Feriesenter.

Central location in the Setesdal

Solvgarden Hotell og Feriesenter is located on the “9” which runs from Kristiansand (2 hours drive) to Haukeligrend (1.5 hours drive). In Haukeligrend you can then continue towards the west coast (Haugesund or Bergen), towards the fjords (such as the Sognefjord and Geirangerfjord) or towards the Telemark and Oslo region.
