Drammen Camping in Drammen in the Viken (Buskerud) region
Drammen Camping is located near the center of Drammen and is the only campsite in Drammen. The campsite is therefore often visited by campers who want to visit Drammen. And sometimes stay longer because the center of Oslo is also easily accessible from the campsite. In addition, Drammen Camping is the first overnight place in Norway for many campers after arriving by ferry in Oslo, Langesund or Larvik. The site has cabins and camping pitches, many of which are located directly along the river.
At Drammen Camping
Drammen Camping has a number of cabins (without sanitary facilities) and about 100 camping pitches. Some of them are located directly along the river Drammenselva. It is also great for swimming and you can go SUP and canoeing here. Fishing enthusiasts can also indulge themselves, because you can fish both in the Drammenselva and in the immediate vicinity of the campsite. In addition, Drammen Camping has a small playground.
Location on the river Drammenselva
The Drammenselva is one of the longest rivers in Norway with a total length of 315km. and runs from the Tyrifjord (near Honefess) to the Drammensfjord. You can enjoy fishing and swimming in the river. There is a small sand/pebble beach at the campsite. Various water sports are also possible. You can rent SUP boards and canoes in the immediate vicinity of the campsite.
Visit Drammen
In recent years Drammen has grown into a large city with a nice center where you will find various shops and entertainment venues. Drammen Camping is only 4km. away from the center. In addition to the center, the "spiral tunnel" (in a mountain) is also worth a visit. From the top of the mountain you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. A walk through the Kjosterudjuvet – a gorge with a length of 1.300 meters and a height of 50 meters – is also recommended.
Close to the E18
If you arrive in Oslo by ferry and are looking for a campsite a short distance from the harbor of Oslo, Drammen Camping is a good option before you venture further into Norway. The site is close to the E18 and it is about a 40 minute drive from Oslo harbor. Drammen is also easily accessible by public transport. Bus stop is 200 meters from the campsite.
