Telemark Kanalcamping in Lunde in the Telemark region
The name says it all, Telemark Kanalcamping is located directly on the Telemark Kanal. Known because of the many locks (18 !! in total) because no less than 72 meters of height difference must be bridged. The campsite is 400 meters from the lock at Lunde. Not as spectacular as the locks at Vrangfoss, but certainly nice to walk to. At the lock of Lunde you will also find a small restaurant.
Walks, bike rides or canoeing
At Telemark Kanalcamping they are completely geared towards the active camper. Walking tours and cycle routes are available at the reception and bicycles are also rented out. Specialism of the campsite is of course (due to location on the Telemark Canal) canoeing. Various types of canoes and kayaks can be rented at reception including equipment.
At Telemark Kanalcamping
There are no accommodations for rent at the campsite, but if you come with a camper, caravan or tent there are many nice places to be found. You can spend the night right on the water, on paved and grassy pitches. At a small lake on the campsite there are also special places for tents. Great! The sanitary facilities at the campsite are well cared for. Internet (WIFI) is free.
Lunde and Telemark Kanal
The village of Lunde is within walking distance of the campsite. In Lunde you will find a restaurant, supermarket, gas station and various shops. The area is mountainous, but good to do with the bike. You can also go fishing and hiking. The biggest attraction in the area is of course the Telemark Canal. The most spectacular part can be found at Vrangfoss (8 km from the campsite), certainly when the historic ships Victoria and Henrik Ibsen pass through.
Bo Sommerland Family Park and Hoyt & Lavt Climbing Park in Bo
The town of Bo is 18km. away. of the camping. Here you will find, among other things, the Bo Sommerland Family Park, one of the largest water amusement parks in Europe. Take more than a day for it, because the number of attractions is huge. The Hoyt & Lavt Climbing Park in Bo is also very worthwhile.
